Genevieve "Genny" May was confirmed as U.S. Marshal for Louisiana's Eastern District, based in New Orleans.

May will be the first woman from Louisiana to serve as U.S. Marshal.

May served as the deputy superintendent with the Bureau of Investigations of the Louisiana State Police, where she worked for more than 30 years.
