WHITE LAKE - The Coast Guard is searching for a 49-year-old fishing boat master about 3 miles offshore from the Louisiana coast in the Gulf of Mexico.

The fisherman was the master of the 85-foot Miss Carol. The Coast Guard says the master was last seen at about 12 a.m. Monday.

The Coast Guard says it has used boats, a helicopter and an airplane in the search. Officials say several fishing boats also are looking for the fisherman.
