Marshal's office outfitted with pepper guns
DENHAM SPRINGS- City marshals will be carrying new equipment to deal with problematic people and the agency's leader believes it is safer than what some departments are packing.
The marshal's office here now also has pepper guns. Marshal Jerry Denton said he prefers them to stun guns, for safety reasons.
"There is no long lasting effect with the use of the pepper gun, nor any effect to others even in crowded conditions," Denton's office said in an email announcing the acquisition of JPX Pepper Guns for the agency.
The department said the guns are easy to use and effective.
