Marine Sergeant Brad McKee set out on a 100 mile run early this morning in St. Bernard Parish.

McKee is running to raise awareness and money for the wounded members of the military.

In the next 24 hours McKee will run through the French Quarter in New Orleans, follow River Road to Highway 51 then head north and finish in downtown Hammond.

McKee is scheduled to arrive at University Avenue in Hammond on Sunday between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

There will be a finish line celebration from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. with live music, an Easter egg hunt and bar-b-que.

McKee joined the military as a freshman at Southern University. He served four years of active duty as a sniper, going to Iraq in 2005 and again in 2007.

Anyone who wants to join McKee in the last five miles of his run can sign up at www.thedisposableheroesproject.com.
