Marijuana, hashish and cash found during drug arrest
GONZALES - Narcotics detectives seized drugs and cash and made one arrest during an investigation this week, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office.
Chief Deputy Tony Bacala said narcotics agents arrested Stanely Langfield, 24, Wednesday night in suspicion of possession of hashish and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
Bacala said detectives were investigating reports of drug activity at an apartment on Airline Highway in Gonzales when they made contact with Langfield, a tenant at the apartments, and found he had more than five pounds of hydroponic marijuana.
After taking the marijuana detectives searched Langfield's apartment, and Bacala said they found more than 30 grams of hashish and nearly $28,000 in cash.
Langsfield was booked into the Ascension Parish jail. Bacala said bond hadn't been set as of Thursday afternoon.
