NEW ROADS- Both the 89th Annual Community Center parade and the Lions' Club parade took to the streets of New Roads on Mardi Gras day.
Delays due to severe weather thinned crowds somewhat, but didn't dampen the spirits of those who stuck around for the celebration.
The Community Center parade, one of the state's oldest behind Rex, Zulu and Proteus in New Orleans, followed the theme "Celebrated Seasons." The Lions' Club parade rolled as "States on Parade."
Each krewe featured at least 30 floats a piece, several bands and the famous "Clydsdale" horses.
