BATON ROUGE - With hundreds of travelers coming to Baton Rouge to watch LSU take on Ole Miss and Southern's homecoming game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, those who have yet to book their hotel room may be out of luck.

Many hotels in Baton Rouge are completely sold out this weekend, so much so that the nearest available hotel room is 80 miles east on I-10.

Jeremy Plater, manager of Hotel Indigo, has been part of the hotel staff for over 5 years. He says in all his years in the hospitality industry, he's never seen the scenario Baton Rouge has faced this summer.

"I've never dealt with this in five years of hotel management," he explained, suggesting that the August flood has made finding a room any day of the week quite difficult.

"The closest room they would have available is going to be your New Orleans area," Plater explains.

Plater says the whole city is sold out of hotel rooms for Saturday night. That means many of those LSU fans, exhaused after rooting on their team, will have to face the traffic to the interstate before their departure home.
