Manufacturing bright for economy
NEW YORK- It looks like big companies are finally starting to spend and that could mean a stronger economy and more jobs.
General Electric, Honeywell and Caterpillar make equipment other companies need to buy to grow and those three have posted good results and tell investors orders for more goods are strong.
Economists say that's a sign businesses are confident enough to invest and hire because they see the economy is strong enough to support growth.
