Man's rape, molestation convictions reversed
The conviction of a Springhill man serving a life sentence plus 25 years for raping and molesting two young family members has been reversed.
The appeals court agreed with Donny D. Carper's complaint about the prosecution's failure to allow him to confront his accusers face-to-face.
He also contended trial judge Mike Craig erred in admitting videotaped interviews of the children without the state calling them as witnesses.
Webster Parish District Attorney Schuyler Marvin says he will appeal to the state Supreme Court.
