Livingston Parish Sheriffs Deputies have identified the man who took off during a traffic stop in Port Vincent around 7pm this evening. Investigators say he is 29-year old Owen Rea.

According to investigators, a Port Vincent Police Officer pulled him over this evening, and Rea bolted into the woods nearby.

Detectives say Rea has several warrants out for his arrest for felony theft and traffic violations. Detectives are urging people to lock their doors tonight, but they did not say whether Rea is armed or dangerous.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office sent helicopters into the air and K-9 dogs into the woods searching for him. The search ended around 9pm, but may resume at dawn.
