Man wrecks after being chased, shot by mystery assailants
BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge police are investigating another shooting, the fifth in the city and parish since Monday.
Investigators said a man was being chased, was shot and crashed on Gracie at North 22nd Street. The victim's car was badly damaged and he was taken to an area hospital.
A police spokesperson said the man, who was not identified, was listed in critical condition and there was no information about the assailants who chase him and opened fire.
The shooting was the most recent to be investigated by authorities following hours of violence where a burglar was shot and killed by a homeowner, two suspects were shot after trying to hit police with a car, a shooting where a car was hit and debris cut a child and a teenager shot in Glen Oaks.
March began with bloodshed following a month where there were no homicides in Baton Rouge.
