BATON ROUGE - Sheriff's deputies are looking for the man that tried to rob an East Baton Rouge Parish gas station early this morning.

EBRSO spokesperson Casey Hicks said deputies were called to Collette's Mobil gas station on O'Neal Lane at around 5:30 a.m.

Investigators were told a man with a knife came in demanding money, but when the clerk didn't give him any he fled on foot. The clerk said he also chased a white Chevy HHR out of the parking lot, which the armed man was believed to have gotten into.

Deputies were told the man was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored ski mask with dark pants.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office at (225) 389-5000. A cash reward is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest in this case.
