PORT ALLEN - A man pleaded guilty and was sentenced to twenty years for hiring a hit-man to kill two former business partners.

Tommy Gioele paid the would-be-assassin $300 to kill the husband and wife he purchased Camile's Cajun Café from in 2007. Instead of killing the couple, the hit-man went to authorities. The informant said Gioele gave him advice on how to escape and arranging payment after the hit was performed.

A judge in West Baton Rouge suspended ten years of Gioele's sentence. Gioele will only spend ten years in prison and will be on probation when he is released.

Charges Gioele tried to hire a second hit from inside jail after he was arrested were dropped.

Gioele previously said the couple were responsible for him losing $1 million, claiming in a lawsuit the owners breached their contract and made future success of the eatery, impossible.
