Man who took hostages commits suicide
A man who shot up a farm supply store in rural Illinois sent customers bolting for exits and held police at bay when he took hostages before killing himself. No one else was hurt. It happened at the Farm King store in Macomb. Police say he fired a semiautomatic pistol inside the store and terrified customers ran out. Authorities didn't name him and have no motive for why he did it. Police surrounded the store as the man took hostages and then found him dead in the housewares section of the building. Police helped two women, two men and a small child escape from an office inside the store.
