Man wanted for killing ex-wife, leaving her in front yard
HAMMOND – The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office is looking for a man suspected of killing his ex-wife and leaving her in her front yard.
On Sunday around 8:44 a.m. an emergency call was received in reference to gunshots heard on Artie Road in Hammond. The caller stated that they saw a body lying in their neighbor's front yard.
When deputies arrived, they saw the body of 50-year-old Linda Williams lying on the ground in front of her home. Witnesses said that after hearing the gunshots, they saw the victim's ex-husband, 53-year-old Jerry Williams, Jr. leaving the home in Linda Williams' red Mustang.
It is believed that Jerry Williams approached Linda Williams as she was trying to leave her home and resulted in her being shot in the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jerry Williams, Jr. is wanted for second degree murder. Detectives have found the red Mustang Williams was driving when he fled the scene. It is unknown what his current means of travel are.
