Man wanted for credit card theft in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge detectives sent out a press release today asking the public to to identify a suspect wanted for theft and then using a stolen credit card.

On Jan. 22, a suspect reached through a woman's car window and as she was sitting in the parking lot of Our Lady of Mercy Church and grabbed her purse off the passenger seat.

The victim got out of the car to confront the suspect and he rushed her and tried to take her cell phone, which she was holding in her hand.

The two struggled a bit and the suspect fled.

A short time later the suspect used the victim's stolen credit card to purchase gasoline in the 10700 block of Florida Blvd.

Anyone who has any information on the suspects whereabouts, is urged to call the Baton Rouge Police Department.
