PRAIRIEVILLE - Sheriff's deputies in Ascension Parish asked for the public's help Wednesday in finding a man accused of breaking into several cars in a Prairieville subdivision earlier this month.

Deputies said Steven Vasquez, 33, was identified in surveillance video as he burglarized a vehicle on Tuesday, Aug. 19 in the Quail Creek Subdivision.

A total of seven unlocked vehicles were believed to be entered by Vasquez between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. on the morning in question as the burglar took an unspecified amount of valuables, according to authorities.

Vasquez is wanted on charges of six counts of simple burglary, simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling, two counts of felony theft, five counts of misdemeanor theft and seven counts of trespassing.

Anyone with information on Vasquez is urged to contact the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office at (225) 621-4636.
