ST. AMANT - Investigators asked for the public's help finding a man who broke into a St. Amant home and held a resident at gunpoint before stealing money and a car.
Ascension Parish Sheriff Jeff Wiley said it happened around 11 p.m. this past Friday at a home on Church Point Road near Highway 431. He said a man convinced an elderly resident to let him inside to use the phone, then held her at gunpoint when he got inside.
Wiley said the woman gave him cash, after which he tore the home phones out of the wall and fled the scene in a gray car of unknown make or model. She told investigators he was a white male, 5'9" to '11", wearing a gray LSU shirt and dark-colored baseball cap, possible also with an LSU logo.
