NEW ORLEANS - A Metairie man has been sentenced to more than three years in prison for illegally inflating an orthodontic company's revenues and assets while he was the chief financial officer.

Bartholomew Frank Palmisano Jr. was sentenced for falsifying corporate records and lying to auditors and accountants.

He was ordered to pay a $10,000 fine and more than $325,000 in restitution.

Palmisano falsified documents between 1998 and 2001 that increased the revenues and assets of Orthodontic Centers of America Inc., a publicly traded company formerly based in Metairie.
