BAKER - Baker police arrested a man today after he escaped custody.

Officers say they were bringing Jcolby Johnson, 24, of Baton Rouge, to parish prison after his appearance at Baker City Court on other charges when he broke away and ran toward a glass door.

Officers say Johnson smashed through the glass door and severely injured his left arm.

Johnson was eventually caught at the intersection of Groom and Epperson Street, transported to Earl K. Long for treatment and finally booked into East Baton Rouge Parish prison on property damage, resisting an officer and simple escape charges.
