Darryl E. Whittington has pleaded no contest to felony hit-and-run driving in the June 2008 death of a woman who was hit by a vehicle near the entrance to the River Bend nuclear power plant.
Family members of the victim, Angela Davis Guins, will be allowed to testify at the hearing.
Whittington faces a fine of up to $5,000 or a prison sentence of up to 10 years, or both.
A no-contest plea has the same effect as a guilty plea in criminal court, but cannot be used as an admission of guilt in civil court.
