Prosecutors say 21-year-old Daniel James Broussard has pleaded guilty in federal court to having used the Internet and his cell phone to have sexual chats with four teenage girls from the Lafayette area.
As part of a plea deal, Broussard pleaded guilty to two counts of attempting to coerce a minor child to engage in criminal sexual acts, an offense that carries a sentence of 10 years to life.
Broussard was indicted in August on four counts of attempting to coerce a minor child to engage in criminal sexual acts and one count of production of child pornography.
