A Louisiana man has pleaded guilty in Baton Rouge federal court to one count of using the Internet to threaten a Texas man in a dispute over $260,000.
Allen S. Rousseau of Denham Springs admitted that he sent an e-mail to Mike Parker of League City, Texas, telling him to pay up or risk a beating or worse.
The charge carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
In April, FBI Special Agent Joshuah L. Badasch signed an affidavit in which he said Rousseau also told Parker a fatal shooting was possible.
