Man Pleads Guilty in Counterfeit Goods Case
BATON ROUGE- The Louisiana Attorney General's office says a Baton Rouge man was convicted as part of a counterfeit goods case.
Millions of dollars in merchandise was seized earlier this year from vendors at the #1 Outlet Mall in Baton Rouge.
The AG's office reports Demba Kane plead guilty to possessing and selling bootleg DVD's and CD's.
Kurt Wall is the Director of the Criminal Division in the Attorney General's office.
He says legitimate businesses are hurt by counterfeit item sales.
He also says the public can be in danger because of things like bogus prescription drugs and electronics that could cause fire.
