A 29-year-old Baton Rouge man pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge and was sentenced to 14 years in prison in the 2007 shooting death of a man.
Christopher Downs was charged with second-degree murder in the July 29, 2007, slaying of 20-year-old Charles Anthony Okafor Jr. Okafor's family agreed with the plea deal, and the judge ordered Downs to obtain his GED while in prison.
