Man looking for best area for crawfish traps goes under
BELLE RIVER- Search crews will return Thursday morning to an area waterway where a crawfisherman fell into the water and went under Wednesday night.
The man's wife said he was out looking for an area to set crawfish traps. As he was loading his boat on a trailer at the launch, he fell into the water.
She told 911 operators he was trying to swim, but kept calling for help. Eventually, she lost sight of him.
Multiple agencies, including sheriff departments and the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries had crews involved in the search.
