Man killed in single vehicle crash near Sorrento
SORRENTO - State police are investigating a single vehicle crash that killed a Baton Rouge man early Wednesday morning in Ascension Parish.
According to troopers, the crash that took the life of 27-year-old Brandon Jamal Guillory happened shortly after 5:15 a.m. when his vehicle ran off I-10 west of LA Hwy 22 near Sorrento and hit a tree head-on.
Investigators stated that Guillory was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and he sustained serious injuries during the wreck. He was taken to a hospital in Gonzales where he later died from his injuries.
State police said impairment is not suspected at this point in the investigation, but a toxicology sample was sent to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
