Man killed in collision with semi
ST. FRANCISVILLE - A man from Gonzales was killed in a crash with an 18-wheeler Tuesday.
State Police said Felix Lipoma, 73, was pulling out of a private drive and onto Highway 61 north of La. 10 when he hit the rear wheels of the tractor trailer. The impact caused Lipoma's pickup to overturn several times.
Lipoma was rushed to a hospital with moderate injuries but later died, troopers said. He was wearing a seat belt, State Police reported in a news release.
Impairment is not considered to be a factor in the crash.
The trucker was not injured.
