Man killed in Albany crash, victim's son arrested
ALBANY - A man in Livingston Parish was arrested after a crash that killed a passenger in his vehicle.
Ryan Chaisson, 21, was driving eastbound on Henry White Road when he left the road way, hit a ditch and struck a tree, according to Livingston Parish spokesperson Lori Steele.
The passenger, Chaisson's father, Chad, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ryan Chaisson was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment of minor injuries. He was later released and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in this crash.
Chaisson is charged with first-offense DWI, reckless operation and vehicular homicide.
His bond was set at $101,378.00.
