NEW ORLEANS - Police say a 20-year-old man was shot in the chest and killed by an officer who arrived at a New Orleans home with a narcotics search warrant.

New Orleans Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas said the house where the shooting occurred Wednesday night had been under surveillance for several days.

Serpas did not identify the victim.

Wednesday night's shooting comes less than a week after a New Orleans man was killed and two officers were seriously wounded during an early-morning traffic stop that escalated into a shootout.
