Man killed, another seriously injured in shooting and crash
Baton Rouge- Police are investigating at least four shootings in Baton Rouge this weekend.
Baton Rouge Police say a man died, and another is in critical condition after the city's latest shooting. It happened just after 2 a.m. near the corner of Plank Road and Mohican Street.
Police got to the scene and found one car overturned in the road and another car off the road in a grassy area.
Police say 22-year-old Michael Allen, the driver of the car in the grassy area, was shot to death and lying outside the driver's door. Another victim, who was shot multiple times, was lying outside the passenger door. The second victim was still breathing, and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Both victims were shot 6 to 7 times, according to police.
Police also found an injured woman near the car that overturned in the roadway. She was taken to the hospital. Investigators believe the two cars crashed as a result of the shooting.
Detectives are investigating the shooting and crash. Police have not released information on suspects or a motive at this time.
