An employee of the LSU Fire and Emergency Training Institute who is accused of stealing and selling
200 fire extinguishers has been indicted by a Baton Rouge grand jury.
William Landry of Albany is charged with one count of felony theft for trying to sell the FEMA-donated fire extinguishers for $15 each in March.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, Landry allegedly contacted another institute employee in early January about selling the fire extinguishers.
The affidavit said the employee sold 200 extinguishers to a friend for $15 each, or $3,000.
