A man is in the hospital after a dog bit him in the crotch earlier today.

Authorities told News 2 the man was riding his bike down a street in Eastover Estates south of Denham Springs around 11:30 a.m. when the a large, black, shaggy dog ran from under a mobile home. The dog charged the man and bit him. The dog’s owner, 56-year-old Mary Loveless, said the dog had a problem with bikes.

The victim went into surgery, and the dog has been quarantined by the parish. Loveless received a citation for violation of the parish leash law.
