Man gets 50 years in killing
A 19-year-old man who shot and killed a Lafayette Burger King manager in 2008 over $5 has been sentenced to 50 years in jail.
Edward Zeno pleaded guilty Monday to manslaughter and theft of a vehicle that was used in the shooting.
The plea agreement reduced the charge from second-degree murder to manslaughter.
Zeno was sentenced to serve 40 years in prison at hard labor for the shooting death of James Living Jr. and 10 years for the automobile theft, with the sentences to be served consecutively, for a total
of 50 years.
