Man found guilty after courthouse breakout

PLAQUEMINE- A man who broke out of court and bolted was found guilty of manslaughter.

Akeem Gailes was on trial for killing a man at a Mardi Gras parade. He was found guilty Friday evening.

Thursday, he unlocked a holding cell at the courthouse and was able to run free. He was nabbed a short time later a few blocks away from the courthouse.
