Man found fatally shot near car with toddler sons inside
NEW ORLEANS- Authorities in New Orleans are investigating after a man was shot to death near a car where his two young sons were found.
Local media outlets report New Orleans police say 30-year-old Shedric Morgan was shot in Gentilly around 9:45 a.m. Friday.
Orleans Parish Coroner Dr. Jeffrey Rouse said Morgan died of gunshot wounds, and police at the scene said it appeared he had been shot several times.
Police found Morgan's 18-month-old twin boys strapped in car seats inside a car located about a half-block from where Morgan's body was found. The children, who were unharmed, were handed over to family members.
Detectives haven't announced any suspects or a potential motive for the killing. Police spokesman Tyler Gamble said Monday that he had no updates to offer on the case.
