FALSE RIVER- A man from Abbeville is dead following a crash this morning in Pointe Coupee Parish.

It happened around 2:00. Police say 32-year-old Kent Nunez was driving south on LA 413 when his truck crossed into the other lane and ran off the road. The vehicle crossed a ditch and hit a tree with the front fender.

Nunez was pronounced dead on the scene. Authorities do not believe alcohol played a part in the crash.The incident is under investigation.
