Man convicted in 2010 killing, armed robbery
BATON ROUGE - A 22-year-old Baton Rouge man has been convicted of second-degree murder, armed robbery and other charges in the 2010 shooting death of a man.
Brandon Seals faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison in the killing of 32-year-old Otis Taylor on Dec. 23, 2010.
On Thursday, state District Judge Richard Anderson scheduled Seals' sentencing for April 16.
Police have said Seals arranged to meet Taylor and another man to sell Taylor an iPhone. When Taylor and the other victim arrived, Seals tried to rob them.
Police say Seals shot Taylor multiple times while the second victim escaped without injury.
