Man charged with murder after Sunday night shooting
PRAIRIEVILLE- A man is facing multiple charges including second-degree murder after a shooting Sunday night.
Cedric Emerson, 35, allegedly killed 36-year-old Frederick Patterson inside a residence on Braud Road. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Patterson dead inside the home.
Through their investigation, deputies learned that Emerson killed Patterson with a shotgun. The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time.
He was charged with second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and illegal use of weapons. While in custody, Emerson attempted to flee and was also charged with resisting an officer and simple escape.
