Man charged in hit and run in Ascension Parish

A man has been arrested in connection with a hit and run early Saturday morning in Ascension Parish. Authorities say Lawrence Furlow, 43, hit a 15-year-old boy while he was riding a bicycle around two a.m. on Cannon Rd.
Witnesses say they saw a white SUV flee the scene without stopping. Deputies matched Furlow to the crime after receiving a tip.
The victim remains hospitalized in serious condition with injuries to his head and back.
Furlow is charged with felony hit and run, negligent injuring, driving under suspension and careless operation of a vehicle.
