Man charged after massive child porn stash seized
BATON ROUGE - Authorities charged a Baton Rouge man with hundreds of counts of child porn possession after an investigation by the Attorney General's Cyber-Crime Unit.
Investigators arrested 35-year-old Benjamin Cole Rosenthal on Thursday. He also faces drug possession and weapons charges for having guns and drugs present together.
According to Rosenthal's arrest records, the AG's Cyber-Crime Unit searched his home on Kimbro drive looking for child porn. Agents said they found several hard drives, thumb drives and computers containing around 6,000 movies and images of child porn, along with marijuana, multiple prescription narcotics, and two weapons.
Investigators said during questioning Rosenthal told them he did not agree with the age of consent being 17, and that he did not know how the images or movies got onto his computer.
