Man caught after manhunt in West Baton Rouge
PORT ALLEN - Deputies in West Baton Rouge Parish said they caught a man who fled after he was stopped on the interstate and deputies spotted drugs in his vehicle.
A spokesperson for the sheriff's office said searchers found Clarenc Preston behind a roofing company near Port Allen.
Authorities started a manhunt after they said Preston and a woman with him both ran from their vehicle after they were stopped along I-10 in West Baton Rouge Parish. Search dogs from Angola Prison were brought in to assist, and Preston was located around 12:30 p.m.
A spokesperson said Preston was booked into the parish jail on charges of obstruction of justice, following too close, resisting an officer and drug paraphernalia possession.
Deputies said they're still searching for the woman who was with himPreston, whom they have not identified yet.
