Man booked on attempted murder charge in December metal pipe attack
BATON ROUGE - Police arrested a man accused of hitting his mother’s boyfriend over the head with a metal pipe several times back in December.
26-year-old Freddie Robinson was booked Monday on an attempted second degree murder charge in connection with the Dec. 3 incident.
Police said they responded to the scene at a Marsh Street apartment complex to find a man suffering from multiple wounds to the head. The victim told law enforcement that his girlfriend’s son had hit him across the head four or five times. Police said the victim believed Robinson was trying to kill him before he was taken to OLOL hospital for treatment.
