Man, baby killed in NO bridge shooting
NEW ORLEANS - A man and his 7-month-old son were shot and killed in an apparent ambush on a New Orleans bridge.
Police spokesman Frank B. Robertson III says someone opened fire on the 25-year-old man Wednesday night as he rode in the back seat of a black Honda Accord on the Crescent City Connection bridge.
Robertson says the child was in a car seat beside him. The driver and another woman who was riding in the passenger seat were not hurt.
The boy was taken to a hospital, where he died.
The shooting happened just past the toll plaza area on the West Bank entrance to the bridge.
Robertson says police do not have a named suspect, but believe the shooter knew the man.
