Man arrested on sexual battery charge after strip club struggle
BATON ROUGE - Police arrested a man on sexual battery charges in connection with an incident that happened at Baton Rouge’s Penthouse Club last month.
56-year-old Thomas Henning was taken into police custody Tuesday after authorities received statements from the strip club’s manager, housemother and the involved employee.
Police said the the incident happened on Oct. 2 at around 11 p.m. while Henning was receiving a lap dance at the Bennington Avenue gentleman’s club. The employee told investigators that, as part of her regular dance routine, she turns away from the patron and dances while sitting on their laps.
As the employee was performing the dance, she told police that Henning grabbed her across the waist and proceeded to touch her inappropriately against her will. She said she tried to push the man away but wanted to avoid making a scene. As she got up to leave, the employee said Henning pulled her back down and kissed her on the mouth without her consent.
Police obtained surveillance footage of the incident, and they conducted interviews with the employee, housemother and strip club manager during the investigation ahead of the arrest.
