Man arrested involved in Gonzales fatal crash
GONZALES - Police arrested a man involved in a fatal crash that killed a man on the interstate early Sunday morning.
It happened around 5 a.m. on I-10 West of the Hwy 30 exit in Gonzales.
Gonzales police arrested 27-year-old John Sanchez after being involved in a crash that killed 66-year-old Floyd H. Cox. Investigators say both Sanchez and Cox's cars were heading westbound on the interstate when Sanchez crashed into Cox.
Police say Sanchez admitted to speeding on his way to work after being questioned by authorities.
Sanchez was charged with reckless operation and driving under suspension. Police say further charges may be pending while they continue the investigation.
