Man arrested in LSU attempted armed robbery
BATON ROUGE - LSU Police said a man arrested Wednesday morning will be charged with attempted armed robbery and assault for two recent incidences around the campus.
Capt. Cory Lalonde with LSUPD said officers arrested Curtis J. Honore Wednesday morning after the man tried to flee from police on a bike.
Lalonde said a female faculty member reported the attack around 8:15 a.m. She said Honore approached her outside Pleasant Hall near Dalrymple Drive and asked for money, then pulled a small knife on her. The woman said she was able to get away from Honore before she called police.
LSUPD officers said when they found Honore outside Louie's Cafe on Chimes Street he took off on a bike toward Highland and State. Officers stopped him and arrested him outside the gas station on Highland.
Lalonde said LSUPD will charge him with resisting arrest and attempted armed robbery. He said Baton Rouge Police will also charge Honore with aggravated assault for an earlier incident Wednesday at the CVS in the same area.
