Man arrested in deadly Christmas Day shooting
LETTSWORTH – Authorities in Pointe Coupee Parish have arrested one person in a deadly Christmas Day shooting.
25-year-old Timothy Gordon is accused of Manslaughter in the shooting of his half-brother, 47-year-old Kevin Laneheart.
Investigators say during an argument at a family gathering in Lettsworth, Laneheart threatened to kill several people there while wielding a knife. That’s when deputies say Gordon shot him with a handgun he was carrying, killing him.
Family members called 911 and authorities arrested Gordon at the scene. He is being held at the parish jail without bond.
