Update: 18-year-old Ryan Veal has been arrested for his involvement in the robbery. Officials say he is not affiliated with LSU.

BATON ROUGE - LSU Police said a man has been arrested in connection to an armed robbery on campus Wednesday.

Officials named Tyzell Duncan as a suspect in an early morning robbery outside Kirby Smith Hall on January 10. Baton Rouge police investigated Duncan for several unrelated charges, including illegal possession of a stolen firearm. After interviewing Duncan, LSUPD also charged him with one count of armed robbery.

According to arrest records, an LSU student was robbed at gunpoint outside the dorm around 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 10.

The victim told authorities that three black males came up to him, with one of the males pointing a small silver revolver handgun at him, demanding his cellphone. After the victim gave up his cellphone, the three fled the area, according to arrest records.

Surveillance video captured the three suspects walking in the area near the dorm. Pictures of the suspects were released to the public, which prompted several tips from individuals attempting to identifying the suspects.

Duncan was already booked in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for the BRPD charges and several warrants.

A second armed robbery charge has been added for Tyzell Duncan. Duncan is still in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. Both armed robberies are still under investigation regarding other suspects.

Officials have not released any information on any additional suspects.

Another robbery occurred on campus Thursday outside Blake Hall.
