Man arrested for using Facebook Messenger to sext 16-year-old girl
BATON ROUGE - Police said they arrested a Baton Rouge man accused of using Facebook chat to send inappropriate images to a 16-year-old girl back in April.
36-year-old Ryan Tumey was arrested Thursday and booked on a charge of indecent behavior with juveniles.
According to the arrest report, law enforcement interviewed the teenage victim who told investigators Tumey was a friend of her boyfriend’s family. She said that on Apr. 3, she was contacted via Facebook Messenger by someone using her boyfriend’s Facebook account.
The victim told detectives she then received a picture of male genitalia with a partially visible face in the background, which she later determined to be that of Tumey.
On Apr. 15, detectives interviewed the victim’s boyfriend who told investigators that he helped Tumey set up online accounts while he was living with his family. He told them that Tumey knew that he used the same password for all of his online accounts, which allowed the man to access his account without his knowledge.
